Global News Reports That For the past few years, it has been heard, read, and perceived that the former number one citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, was coming back to contest for the presidential seat of the Federation.
Although, the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has not personally denounced or endorsed the speculation that he may be coming back to join the race for the contest for the presidential seat of Nigeria, come 2023. Considerably, his choice of silence over the matter could be considered as an opportunity for the Speculators to have more reasons to forge ahead.
Noticeably, while some people think that the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan would be contesting under the platform of his party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), some citizens think that he will be lured to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) to vie for the presidential seat of Nigeria, come 2023.
Considerably, the fact that the former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has not officially defected from the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to any other party could be enough reason for those speculating his presidential ambition under the platform of the opposition party. Also, the amazing romances between former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari could be considered as a point that some Speculators are citing; to suggest his possibility of picking the presidential ticket of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) in the much-awaited forthcoming 2023 general elections.

It could be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari signed, into Law, an alteration to the 1999 Constitution On Executive Order 16 in 2018.
The alteration insisted that a Deputy Governor or Vice President who completed the tenure of an impeached or dead Governor or President cannot be freshly elected for the same Office, more than once.
Considerably, this alteration was purposely brought up to address the argument that followed the 2015 Presidential ambition of the same Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
With this, it could be constitutionally impossible for former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to recontest for the presidential seat of Nigerian, in 2023. It could be recalled that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan completed the tenure of the former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua between 2010 and 2011 before he was elected in the 2011 general elections.
