Women’s Champions League Draw: Man City Faces Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Celtic Learn Group Opponents

The 2024 Women’s Champions League kicks off on October 8, with Manchester City making their group-stage debut. City has been drawn into Group D alongside reigning champions Barcelona, SKN St. Pölten, and Hammarby, following Friday’s draw in Nyon.

This marks Man City’s first group-stage appearance, having previously competed in knockout rounds before the format change in the 2021/22 season. Despite exiting in the second qualifying round that year, Gareth Taylor’s side now face a tough challenge against Barcelona, who won the title last season.

WSL champions Chelsea find themselves in Group B, facing Scottish debutants Celtic, Real Madrid, and FC Twente. The group promises thrilling matchups, with Celtic becoming the first Scottish team to reach this stage.

Arsenal, fresh from a 4-0 victory over BK Häcken to secure their spot in the group stages, have been drawn in Group C. They will take on German champions Bayern Munich, Juventus from Italy, and Norwegian side Valerenga in a fiercely competitive group.
