FG Declares Tuesday, October 1, as Public Holiday for Nigeria’s 64th Independence

 

 

 

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, a public holiday to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day. Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, announced this on Saturday, September 28. The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the government.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians both at home and abroad, recognizing their resilience and hard work. He praised the nation’s citizens, assuring them that their sacrifices contributed to the nation’s progress.

 

 

 

The minister urged Nigerians to reflect on the efforts of past heroes and to unite for the future. He highlighted that achieving a better Nigeria requires collective effort and unity.

 

 

 

Dr. Tunji-Ojo wished everyone a Happy Independence Day and encouraged Nigerians to stay dedicated to nation-building.
